M/OBS 2002

The GPS-Module M/OBS 2002 is a miniature, self-contained, electronical navigation unit that provides
the user´s position (Latitude/Longitude). The unit contains a GPS receiver, interface for a GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) phone and operating software.
During development, extrem care was taken to reduce the system size and power consumption. These features will make this tracking system suitable for user on foot.

Systemdescription

The system provides continous position tracking on a moving map display of people travelling on foot and consists of a mobile unit that is carried by an user on foot and a Base Station that provides tracking, moving map display and communication to the mobile unit via GSM. Multiple mobile unit positions can be displayed over scanned or digitized maps on the Base Station´s monitor. Mobile units are typically displayed by numbered icons.

This system is also applicable for intelligent traffic systems.
