NORTECH DATENSYSTEME GmbH was founded in the year 1988, we started our buisiness by developing data acquisition systems, especially designed for the harsh environment to be used on vehicles, i.e. trucks and forklifts. Data like time, operating hours, total milage, loading and unloading activities, cargo temperature and trailer door openings have been recorded on a memory card.

When the first GPS modules became available, we combined the existing data acquisition system with a GPS receiver. From now on a position (latitude and longitude) was added to the data set. Following next was the demand for getting the vehicle data almost in realtime. The wireless communication system GSM - Global System for Mobile Communications was integrated, using the low cost SMS - Short Message Service for datatransfer.
